A professional hobbyist
My obsession started in my teens during the late eighties, cutting my teeth on legendary rear wheeled drive Ford Escorts. My Electric Blue Mk1 Escort still remains the most definitive car in my life....I spent 5 years bending it, repairing it and evolving it into a stunning speed weapon. It finished with a fully sorted chassis topped off with a screaming formula ford racing engine.
I hit top form in the 1990s, working my way through the iconic hot hatch era, owning legends such as the Renault 5 GT Turbo, Escort RS Turbo (white lightning) and pocket rockets such as the super rare Daihatshu Charade GTti.
Over ten years of competitive kart racing allowed me to hone my engineering skills and the appreciation of how a car should be set up, behave and feel...
Recent years has allowed me to extend my experience with more modern machinery and I have further developed my detailing skills through obsessive ownership and care of these wonderful cars.
I now consider myself as a professional hobbyist where I relish the challenge of transforming old and tired iconic cars/bikes and enhancing newer machinery to jaw dropping levels of preparation....
